Ag Communications Scholarship
Agricultural communicators serve to provide producers with the information they need to be successful on the farm or ranch. Whether listening to the radio while feeding, flipping through the paper at the end of a long day in the tractor, or watching the ag report on television before tackling the day, producers depend on ag communicators to bring up-to-date, accurate industry news to the end of every dirt road.
Recognizing the importance of keeping youth in agriculture and that the best ag communicators have rural roots and understand the industry on a personal level, Western Ag Reporter, Northern Ag Network, and Stockman Bank are again teaming up to offer scholarships to high school seniors planning to pursue an education and a career in ag communications. Up to three winners will be awarded a total of $3,000.
Who can apply?
High school seniors with rural backgrounds who are planning to attend a two-year or four-year college or university in any state with the long-term goal of working in ag communications, whether for a broadcast station, newspaper, magazine, breed association, industry organization, or as a freelance writer... the possibilities are endless. Note: the applicant need not be planning to study for a particular degree, as many paths lead to ag communications. The applicant also need not be planning to attend an ag university.

1) Official scholarship application.
2) Official high school transcript.
